Step 3: Define Buttons
Overview:

This step is where you personalize your menu with buttons text, adjust the structure and spacing, add links and even get button designs from the Button Gallery. Add more buttons using the Add Root and Add Child buttons or move your buttons around just by dragging and dropping.

The Button List :

Add Root Button:
This will add a new root button - the new button will be added to the end of the list.

Add Child Button:
This will add a new child button to the currently selected button. The new button will be apended after any other child buttons.

Delete a Button:
To remove a button just select it in the Button list and then press the delete button.

Arranging your Menu Structure
To move a button within your menu simply drag and drop to the desired new position. You will notice that the button can be placed either on top of another button or inbetween two buttons. When you drag and drop the button on to another button it will be positioned as a child to that button.

Add your own button text:
To edit the button text just click anywhere on the current text. If you would like to use extended characters or international fonts you will need to access the Buttons States dialog in the Design step.

Note: If you want to edit the font or alignment settings of the text you will need to access the Button States dialog in the Design step

Adding links:
To add a URL to the button just type the link information in the link field.

Note: For more advanced features such as settings a target fame you will need to access the Button General Properties dialog in the Design step.

Changing the text color:
To change the text color just click on the color swatch and select a new color from the pop-up palette.

The 'Lock button layout' option, if set, will mean that if you move any existing button around in the button list it will be moved to the corresponding position in the editor window and project. If 'Lock buton layout..' is not selected any change in the button list will only affect the display order - i.e. which buttons appear in front of other buttons.

Layout Options :

Use the the controls to adjust spacing between the button and the inset from the edge of the project. The Spacing control will adjust spacing between buttons on the same levels as each other - contracting or expanding the menu. You can also change spacing for an individual button.

To remove all individual button spacing changes use the "Equalize Spacing" button.
